Therapy for Individuals and Couples Who Are Ready for Clarity
Whether you’re trying to heal on your own or fix things together, you want a therapist who will help you see your patterns, call you on your BS and help you move forward.
The Counseling Studio offers individual therapy, couples therapy, and therapy intensives in person in Clarkston, Michigan, and by telehealth for clients in Michigan and Florida.
Therapy for Individuals
You’ve built a successful career. You’re good at your job, you handle everyone else’s problems, and people see you as the one who has it together. But a toxic relationship, a divorce, a loss, or one too many dating disappointments has left you feeling lost and off balance.
I work with high-achieving women and men to break toxic relationship patterns, heal from heartbreak, and rebuild confidence, without giving up their ambition or success.
As a relationship therapist and narcissistic abuse specialist, I bring both clinical training and personal experience with divorce, widowhood, and dating again. Together, we’ll set boundaries, rebuild your self-worth, and create a personal life that feels as good as the rest of your life looks.
Individual therapy can help with:
Divorce recovery: grieving the loss, and rebuilding a new life
Toxic relationship recovery: understanding why you stayed and how to stop repeating it
Narcissistic abuse recovery: healing from manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional abuse
Post-separation abuse recovery: protecting your peace when the relationship is over but the control isn’t
Coercive control recovery: recognizing the pattern of monitoring, isolation, and intimidation, and rebuilding the self-trust it took from you
Heartbreak recovery: moving through the loss without losing yourself
Dating: choosing better, trusting yourself, and spotting red flags earlier
It’s time to trust yourself and your future.
Therapy for Couples
Does your marriage feel more like a roommate situation than a partnership? Are the same fights, the silence, or the distance making you feel stuck?
Marriage counseling can help you rebuild trust, improve communication, and reconnect. If infidelity, broken boundaries, or interference from family has damaged your relationship, I can help you restore trust and build a life together that you actually want, not one you feel obligated to endure.
And if your marriage feels dead and you’re not sure whether to stay or go, I can help with that, too. You’ve tried date nights, podcasts, books and improved your communication, but you are losing hope. Counseling gives you clarity, a chance to rebuild emotional intimacy, and the ability to make an empowered choice.
Couples therapy can help with:
Reconnection counseling: moving from roommates back to partners
Infidelity recovery: rebuilding trust after an affair
Discernment counseling: gaining clarity if one or both of you are unsure about staying
Conflict resolution: breaking the cycle of the same argument
Premarital counseling: starting your marriage with strong communication
Communication improvement: learning to be heard and to hear each other
You don’t have to stay stuck. Healing is possible.
Therapy Intensives
Maybe the usual 50 minutes a week doesn’t work for you. You’re busy, you’re juggling work and kids, and you’d rather solve it in a day than over three months.
An intensive is an extended therapy session that goes well past the standard 50 minutes, so you can go deeper and make progress faster. It saves time, and often money, too. Think of it as a Disney FAST-PASS for therapy: skip the lines and get right to the ride.
2-Hour Intensive: Room for the longer story and a deeper dive, so healing starts sooner. Book it once or on back-to-back days.
3-Hour Intensive: A comprehensive look at the issue and the solutions. Intense, but healing, for people who’d rather solve it in one day than in three weeks of sessions.
Weekend Intensive: Concierge-style counseling for busy professionals, offered on a limited basis. A three-hour session that gets things moving. Get messy and find solutions.
Intensives are available for both individuals and couples. See the Fees page for current rates.

Post-separation abuse is when an ex-partner continues to control, manipulate, or harass you after the relationship ends, often through the legal system, co-parenting, or finances. Therapy helps you build resilience and set boundaries.
